The continued lack of information about opportunities for students from low-income communities has created a gap in our educational outcomes. Through Freedom and Citizenship, our group has worked to create a resource in hopes of fostering a more equitable education system. By providing young leaders and learners in New York City from low-income backgrounds with information about communities, opportunities, and support networks, we aim to uplift those students and create a pathway toward comprehensive educational experiences. We hope that by providing this resource, students will take advantage of all the opportunities they have in New York City during their K-12 journey, and gain support on their pathways to higher education.
Our tracking and mapping resource below identifies and locates free educational opportunity programs across the city. Our podcast brings educational experts into conversation with high school students, and our email template offers our viewers and visitors a chance to take action today in bringing more educational opportunities to their communities.
