As a young person, it is disheartening to know that so many students are homeless in New York. Please do what you can to help them

I am requesting you to sign the bills INT - 1104 and INT - 1529 because it expands the economic eligibility to include more tenants and ensures that those tenants know their rights. When people are represented by a lawyer they are more likely to win their case, statistics say that eighty-six percent of represented tenants win their case, due to the lawyer having knowledge about the laws. Unfortunately, only one percent of tenants facing evictions had a lawyer to defend them in court before the right to counsel passed.
It’s evident that the law works and I think more individuals should benefit from a fair chance in court.
