While gentrification is disheartening as it tears apart communities of working-class families who can only afford to live in that area, it may bring around some integration for the school in that surrounding community. 

Although Brown v. Board of Education decided more than six decades ago that segregation in public schools was unconstitutional, children today are more racially and socioeconomically isolated than they have been in decades.
