Throughout the summer program, Freedom and Citizenship students make the most of New York's intellectual offerings by participating in field trips. Whether we are examining political art at the Whitney or learning about urban farming at Harlem Grown, we are always seeking opportunities to take theory out of the classroom and study living social justice initiatives. At the Museum of Chinese in America or the Museum of the City of New York, we might learn more about America's history of immigration, exclusion, and reform, in order to understand how historical political factors inform our present society.
