Step one: 

In order call your Rep you first must find the bill that is currently in progress. By visiting https://legiscan.com/NY/research/S08659/2023 you can find bill’s that most relates to Mental health in school’s.

Step two: 

Once you found the bill that you feel the most strongly about supporting find who represents your neighborhood by going to Who Represents Me? NYC

Step three: 

Once you found your representative call them and talk about your support for the bill. 

And you can use our script to ensure professionalism:

Identify yourself:

  • Hello, my name is (your name here) and I’m a resident of  (your neighborhood here) in New York City.

Identify the issue:

  • I’m calling because I’m concerned about (list bill you found in your search or the issue you care about)                                                            . 

 Then make the ask:

  • I want (the name of the representative you're calling) to:
    • (vote for or against the bill
    • or introduce a new bill that will (fill this in with the change you want to see)
    • or is there something specific you want to ask for? Ask it!                                                                                                                           .
